God calls us to good stewardship. This includes caring for His creation, our planet. Care for Creation by Christy Baldwin is a gentle way to teach our young children about caring for our Earth. Each page contains a Bible verse and is beautifully illustrated by Shelly Draven.
The story ends with activity suggestions to implement in your family and discussion questions to facilitate further thinking.
As an environmental crusader who is also a very conservative Christian, I found Care for Creation to be a refreshing reminder as to why God’s people are called to protect our planet.
This story is entertaining and kept my group of 2-10 year olds engaged. The discussion questions were particularly stimulating for the 7-10 year olds in my group. We have several activities planned that were sparked by the story, from adding “recycling helper” to our jobs list each day to reducing our overall trash creation. The story tied in nicely with our save the earth science curriculum. Now, if I could just get the crew to cut down on the massive amount of art paper we use each day…
