What A Minute… Isn’t This a Gluten Free Blog?

Bisquick Gluten Free Pancakes... Yum!

Why, yes it is and so much more.  We are still trying out new gluten free products and experimenting with recipes, but honestly, with the turmoil of the last few months (we moved, remember) we aren’t baking much.

However, The Store Which We Shall Not Name, opened locally a few weeks ago.  While checking out the grocery department, I happened upon Bisquicks new gluten free mix.  *Do a little dance… get down tonight… oh yeaaaaaaaaaah!*.  (Yes, I’m aware those are not the exact correct lyrics, but go ahead and tell me that songs not stuck in your head right now.)

Let’s talk price first… at $4.59 for a 16oz box I wasn’t impressed.  Really, Bisquick, I expected more from you.  I can buy like 10 pounds of the regular stuff at that price and we all know that rice flour is not that expensive.

It did make good pancakes when real egg was used… I do not recommend using a substitute because then the flapjacks became barely palatable.  We haven’t tried out biscuits yet… I’ll get around to it.  I have some fabulous (fresh, local) home canned tuna begging to be made into creamy tuna and cheddar biscuits.  Hungry now?
