Photos of Mom

Photobucket … Yes, I’m petty and white-ed (is that really a word?) out my ex. Mama is laughing with me right now. This was taken 8.5 years ago, when my oldest daughter and Mama’s first granddaughter was baptized. The little girls? Those are Teengirl and sister Eden… they are 16 and 19 now.

Christmas 2006… the girls and Grandma.  This was three months after Mom’s diagnosis with ALS… she hadn’t been able to speak in 10 months but still had full function with some weakness in her body.  These little girls ADORE Grandma.

Mama and her girls(Jamie aka PolkaDotMommy, Michelle aka Teengirl and Eden), Christmas 2007… 15 months post diagnosis and Mom has lost the majority of her movement… even holding her head up is getting hard. She still has limited use of her hands.  Teengirl was mid illness here and still severely bloated from the steroids.  She looks so much healthier now!

Also Christmas 2007… Mom and Grandpa.

We missed out on our photo this last Christmas because of a severe storm… we got to see Mama but only briefly.

Looking at these photos really illustrates how much Mom aged in those couple of years… she went from an average 48 year old to a very old 51 year old.
