I’ve got lots of goodies to share… and I’ll get around to it, maybe tomorrow.
In the meantime, I’ve got a little Holiday Cheer to share with you all…
We are still under a lot of snow over here… about 12 inches now that the melt is underway, but we had 2ft at the worst of it. We’ve done pretty well getting around in our 4wd truck (Yes, Hubs I’m glad that we didn’t sell it… YET!). Hubs put the truck in the ditch about 5 miles from home the other day (some other nice truck owners helped pull him out) and we spent five hours making the normal one hour drive home from my Grandparents last night… then our truck got stuck at the top of our driveway. The snow has turned wet and sloppy, and even with 4wd and chains, we couldn’t get out. The truck is now sitting precariously close to the embankment that drops about 10 feet off the side of our driveway. We are going NO where until the thaw occurs… which by reports should be Saturday. Let’s get real here for a minute, the truck is on that embankment and Hubs is worried that when the melt starts the truck will slide down the rest of the way. Good times. (And yes, I called both Roadside Assistance through my cell service and AAA… neither will come out because our area is in emergency status and we are home safe, I’m not spending the hundreds it would take to get a tow truck out on Christmas Day.)
The kids got a million gazillion plastic toy gifts from our family and they are in hog heaven. At home, Santa tried to think long term and brought electronics because they will give many years of joy.
We enjoyed a yummylicous Tri Tip Roast with rice and corn for dinner today. (Thought you were going vegetarian again, PolkaDots?… um, yeah, I’m getting there but its very hard with all Hubs wants is meat.)
In other news, my 31st Bday is four days away now… *sigh* Those Birthdays just keep sneaking up on me!
If you want to read about divesting yourself of all that packaging/giftwrap, Eco Style… then stop on over to Eco Child’s Play where I’m talking about just that!
