Monday Stuff…

For lack of a better title. Today is Monday afterall. So this is Monday Stuff.

Today, Baby A got here at 6:15. I’ve decided I like those dark, quiet minutes before anyone else is up. The house is silent except the screeching of Oregon Dad’s alarm every 10 minutes (he hits snooze no less than 3 times every morning). I get to snuggle with a precious little baby for a few minutes while everything is calm. Too bad I have to send her home at the end of the day.

The rest of the crew woke up and filtered out of their bedrooms around 6:30. I wanted to keep K3 home because she is hacking like crazy. That poor child, a cold hits and she is sick for weeks. Everyone else recovers within days, not our little K3. She begged to go to school today, said she felt fine. And really she isn’t that sick any longer its just that nasty cough. The school has her inhaler and natural cough drops for her so I know she will be fine.

We finished our State Quarters Map this weekend, with the final Hawaii Quarter finding its way home. K-Man wanted to take it to school (they’ve been studying States and Capitals) so Oregon Dad went to work late and drove the kiddos to school. Now we’ve decided to locate 3 more sets of the quarters so all the kiddos can have a map.

Tonight I am going to make Shrimp and Tilapia Scampi Pasta for dinner. With a giant Organic Spring Salad and mandarin oranges. Mmmmm… makes me hungry to think about it.

My wine rack is now half full (well, technically 5 out of 8 slots but one bottle is chilling). Hubs doesn’t get why I want the rack full before we start busting into the bottles. It’s this thing I have, it’s called being Anal Retentive. 🙂 I want a full wine rack to look at. Then as we take a bottle out, we only have to get one at the market to replace it. This weekend we brought home a couple bottles from Costco and two more bottles from Whole Foods (they have a great wine selection and many are reasonably priced). We are more of a white/blush wine family… so I didn’t get to bring home a Merlot. I’ll never drink more than a glass anyway so we need wines Hubs will like.

My hands smell like citrus. I peeled a mandarin orange for L.C. this morning and despite numerous hand washings, the smell persists. I’m glad its a nice smell instead of oh, garlic or onions.

I’ve been hungry all the time. What’s up with that? I eat dinner and an hour or two later, I’m all… “Mmmmm, I’m starving” as I forage through the kitchen. I am sure my jeans are feeling more snug on my middle today. *sigh* I really should go on one of those juice fasts. Or… maybe I’ll just do a cleanse. That’d be a hoot.

I made some really cool “upcycled” stockings. Check them out over at Eco Child’s Play. While you are there, be sure to read all about the perfect stocking stuffers.

Oh, and here is the funniest thing I have ever read. Beware… this is adult content (though nothing offensive or pornographic). Small Car Sex on Treehugger.

Have a great Monday ya’ll. And may I just say, I’m Thankful for short weeks! 🙂

One Response to Monday Stuff…

  1. We had two of the Quarters things going and started the third when she got pregnant for that one…almost done with all of them.

I love the smell of oranges on my hands. I used to be alergic to citric acid as a child…or so they thought. I broke out in hives to to stress…not oranges. I am the designated orange peeler in the house.

I DO NOT want to know what you have to do to be “cleansed”.
