K3 can’t eat gluten, wheat, milk, whey, rye, barley, spelt… yada yada. Needless to say we don’t get to eat out with her. It’s very difficult when all the kids REALLY want the occassional kids meal and we can’t do it anymore.
Today I wanted to take the kids to McMenamins. They have a theater where we can watch Mr. Magoriums Wonder Emporium for $3.00 each and have dinner. Yay. Oh, wait… maybe we will have to skip the food and eat before we leave home.
Let me tell you. I love McMenamins. Their food is tasty. I wasn’t looking forward to eating first. I called the Lodge to find out about their food preparation processes. McMenamins makes their own fries, from real potatoes… and lucky for us, the oil is dedicated to potatoes only.
So I packed up two slices of Tapioca bread and a slice of Tofutti American Cheese and off we went. $28.00 later, the five of us girls were sitting in the theater with some yummy food. I ordered K3 the hamburger kids meal minus the bun and sauce (patty only) and we put the patty on her Tapioca bread, added the Tofutti Cheese and ketchup. She was one happy camper.
I was thrilled that five of us were able to see a movie and eat dinner for $28.00. Too bad the boys missed out. The staff was very helpful when I called to find out about the food, running back to the kitchen twice to ask more questions. I love this place!
(Oh and the movie was really cute. Lil Critter got bored, but hey, she’s three!)
